Direct Recruitment to Assistant Professor (Stage 1) & Equivalent

  1. Assistant Professor (Stage-I) & Equivalent of various disciplines of Agriculture/ Veterinary Science/ Home Science/ Fisheries/ Agricultural Engineering/ Sericulture: (Pay scale Rs. 15,600-Rs. 39, 100  with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000):

     Essential qualifications:

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary Science/ Home Science/ Fisheries/ Agricultural Engineering/ Sericulture, as relevant to the requirement of the post. For the post of Assistant Professor in Sericulture, the essential requirement is Bachelor’s degree in either Sericulture or Agriculture.
  • Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in disciplines of Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Home Science/ Fisheries/ Agricultural Engineering/ Sericulture from an Indian university or a foreign university.
  1. Assistant Professor (Stage-I) & Equivalent of Statistics: (Pay scale Rs. 15,600-Rs. 39,100 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000):

    Essential qualifications:

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Statistics as major subject

Or

Passed Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Home Science/ Fisheries/ Forestry

  • Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in Statistics/Agricultural Statistics from an Indian university or a foreign university.

Note: For universities adopting scales other than 4 point or 10 point, the minimum CGPA (MCGPA) requirement shall be worked out by the formula-

 

  • Qualified National Eligibility Test (NET). NET is not required for disciplines in which NET is not conducted. NET is waived for candidates with Ph.D. degree, provided such degree is obtained under course credit system in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree, 2009 Regulation)and the candidate has at least two full length publications having NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application.
  • Age of the candidate should not be more than 43 years on the last date of submission of application.
  1. Assistant Professor (Stage-I) & Equivalent of Meteorology: (Pay scale Rs. 15,600-Rs. 39, 100 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000):

  •  Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics or Meteorology as the major subject

Or

Passed Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science/Home Science/ Fisheries/ Forestry

  • Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in Meteorology/Agricultural Meteorology from an Indian university or a foreign university.

  2. Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in Business Administration from an Indian university or a foreign university.

OR

  1. i) MBA/PGDM from reputed institutions like IIM
  2. ii) Two years working experience in reputed organization

  1. Associate Professor (Stage-4) & Equivalent in the Discipline of Veterinary Anatomy: (Pay scale Rs. 37,400-Rs. 67,000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000):

 

   Essential qualifications:

  • Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science
  • Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in disciplines of Veterinary Science from an Indian university or a foreign university.

Note: For universities adopting scales other than 4 point or 10 point, the minimum CGPA (MCGPA) requirement shall be worked out by the formula-

 

  • D. Degree in any field (unless specified) of the concerned discipline.
  • A minimum of 8(eight) years of service experience (excluding the period spent in obtaining Ph.D. Degree) in teaching/ research/ extension as Assistant Professor or Equivalent in a university or research/extension institution.
  • The candidate must have published at least 5 (five) publications (research paper, book, chapter of book, review paper, monograph) in the entire period as Assistant Professor or Equivalent.
  • A minimum score (44 out of 80) as stipulated in the ‘Academic Performance Indicator’ (API) based ‘Performance Based Appraisal System’ (PBAS), prescribed for Direct Recruitment in AAU (Score Card Code no. DAP-1) to be called for interview.

 Direct Recruitment to Professor (Stage 5) & Equivalent

      Professor (Stage- 5) & Equivalent in Business Administration:

      (Pay scale Rs. 37,400-Rs. 67,000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000):

      Essential qualifications:

  1. i) Passed Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary Science/ Home Science/ Fisheries/ Forestry/ Agricultural Engineering
  2. ii) Secured minimum 55% marks or minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (MCGPA) of 3.00 in 4 point scale or 7.00 in 10 point scale at the Master’s degree level in Business Administration from an Indian university or a foreign university.

OR

  1. i) MBA/PGDBA/PGDBM from reputed institutions like IIM
  2. ii) Two years working experience in reputed organization(s)

Direct Recruitment to Subject Matter Specialist.

       Disciplines : Agric. Economics, Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Protection (Pathology + Ento.),                          Animal     Science, Fishery Science, Home Science.

(Pay Scale : Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with AGP of Rs. 5,400/- p.m.)

      Essential qualifications :
  1.   Bachelors degree in Agriculture/Vety. Science/Fisheries Science/Home Science as the case may be with OGPA 3.00 in 4.00 point scale or at least 6.50 in 10.00 scale.
  2.   55 % marks or an equivalent OGPA of 3.00 in 4.00 point scale or 7.00 in 10.00 point scale at the Master Degree level from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

General Instructions:

  1. Age limit as on 01.01.2018 : (i) 43 (Forty-three) years (maximum) for Assistant Professor & Subject Matter Specialist. The age is relaxable by the number of full years of service rendered in AAU/ICAR/CSIR/DST/SAUs and other Govt. Institutions up to a maximum of 5(five) years as supported by the relevant documents.(ii) For the posts of Professor & Associate Professor maximum age bar will be 60 & 50 years respectively.
  2. For the posts of Assistant Professor and equivalent, candidates from the State of Assam should only apply. They need to be the permanent resident of Assam.
  3. Submission of application forms :
  4. Application form in prescribed format is to be submitted to the Registrar, AAU, Jorhat on or before May 31,  2018.
  5. The application fee is to be deposited at Powerjyoti Account of the University lies with the State Bank of India, AAU Jorhat Branch (A/c No. 33019714091). For payment, a challan copy may be downloaded from the University website and fee-paid Challan copy may is to be enclosed along with the application form. The prescribed fee is Rs. 300/- in case of general candidates and Rs. 150/- in case of SC/ST/DAC candidates.
  • Reservation shall be as per Government of Assam Rules.
  1. In service candidates must send their application through proper channel.
  2. Applications received late and found incomplete will not be considered.
  3. A self addressed stamped (worth Rs.6/- envelope size 23 cm x 10 cm should be sent along with the application form.
